3.0 out of 5 stars Definite improvement over previous model, but one big flaw still, July 25, 2012

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program ( What's this?)
[Edited 9/27/12 to modify my rating (took off one star), and to note that unfortunately, this line is STILL not where it needs to be WRT the milk function. If you don't plan to make use of milk steaming, my original 4 star rating stands, and I might even bump it to 4.5 stars. But the milk frothing IS a big part of the selling point of the machine (otherwise, you could buy a much cheaper, much smaller unit for just making espresso/coffee). And they still didn't get it right this time, although it IS better than the previous model. They completely removed the horrible steam wand from the previous ENA version, and incorporated the FrothExpress accessory into the new models, as the sole milk frother. The problem is that the heat is just not there for the (barely) steamed milk. I can literally put my finger under the stream of milk before it goes into the cup, and it's BARELY warm. Warm, not even hot. In frustration, I just got my dedicated milk frother from the garage and started... Read more

As I write this, I am sipping and enjoying a lovely Caramel Macchiato. Made at home. Simply and quickly. And it's quite yummy. I LOVE this coffee pot.

It has been said by some that the ability to make a good cup of coffee (in a traditional coffee pot, anyway) is a "gift." And quite frankly, it's a gift I've never had! I can make only marginally okay coffee with a traditional plaugged in coffee pot. Now, I CAN manage a mad-good cup of coffee with the Bialetti 6800 Moka Express 6-Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker Bialetti coffee pot I picked up in Italy a few years ago (mine is slightly smaller than this one, which is 29.95). It also is easy to use and consistently performs, but it (the Bialeti) has some draw backs: you are committed to making an exact number of expresso shots and the pot is just too-darn-hot to... A mere 12 minutes passed between the second it took me to open the Jura box to the moment I took my first sip of REALLY delicious latte macchiato. That included running the hard water test. If you are looking to save time, you can't get much faster than that. The Jura ENA Micro 9 is very fast, great looking and (most importantly) it makes a DELICIOUS espresso and espresso drinks. You could add a pair of googly eyes and name it Javabot 3000 to really feel like you are living the sci-fi future we all wanted as kids.

WHAT CAN IT DO?
Once set up, I made two shots of espresso, two latte macchiatos, a cappuccino, a cafe crema and poured hot water for tea before I needed to refill the water tank. These were all done using the Jura factory presets for each drink. During this run of 7 drinks I didn't have to stop to empty the knock box or drip tray; so if you have a dinner party going you could serve everyone in under 10 minutes with no interruption. A note about using... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Fresh Coffee, YAY!, July 11, 2011

I bought this Keurig after I had coffee at my sister's house. The coffee maker I was using at home was your standard traditional one but I found that I kept wasting coffee and then the grounds would go stale. It wasn't a right fit maker for me. So, I bought this Keurig. The machine seems to take a longer time than my sister's (whose was more expensive) but it's fine. The reservoir on the left is handy because it means you don't have to fill up water every time you make a cup. I find that I need two Keurig cups for a full large mug full of coffee but I knew that going in. All in all, if you drink the occasional cup, or want a variety of flavors, I would recommend this one to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best coffee maker, nothing really compares, October 23, 2011
This review is from: Keurig K-Cup Home Brewer (Grocery)
My mom bought me this coffee maker for my birthday and I am in love with it. Granted, this the first and only Keurig coffee maker I have had, it does everything it should. And it makes excellent coffee. I can have a warm cup of fantastic-quality coffee in about a minute, start to finish. I have had it for about 3 months now and haven't had any problems at all. I am planning on buying one for my mom for Christmas.

We have had it less than three months. We have to descale about once a week. Our water has 1 gram of hardness. Almost perfect. They have sent new water reservoir (which by the way Keurig has great help line). But, honestly for the money the Mr. Coffee is better. You just have to add the water each time. But it works each time. It is very hard to get a consistent full cup of coffee out of this Keurig machine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best value for the money - Awesome coffee, May 15, 2008

This review is from: Nespresso C100-US-AERO Essenza Automatic Single-Serve Espresso Machine with Nespresso Aeroccino Milk Frother, Titanium (Kitchen)
I was initially reluctant to buy this based on the fact that they use proprietary pods. Had that reluctance stuck with me, I probably would've spent a few hundred more on a high-quality manual espresso machine, or over a thousand on an automatic machine. $.52 a cup is reasonable when you consider that grinding your own works out to about $.30 a cup, but yields a greater mess and requires more soap and water for cleanup each time. With two little kids at home - who has time to clean? I was absolutely giddy the first time I used both the machine and the frother. Separately and together, both machines match or rival what all too many of us pay $3-5 for from the local coffee shop. I'm convinced that our friends will like us more if we decide to share some of this with them. I bought this at Williams-Sonoma based on loyalty as I had sampled it 3 times over a two week period and finally couldn't take it anymore. I had to have one! Consumer reports also ranks this machine highest in its... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent taste and easy to make and clean-up - worth the cost!, December 30, 2009

Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
After a lot of research and knowing how tasty the Nespresso espressos are (free sample at a store a year ago that I fondly remembered), I bought the Nespresso C100 on Amazon in September 2009 for an anniversary present to ourselves. In four months, we have made about 180 cups of cappuccino or espresso for my husband and I and an occasional guest. We make about 2-3 cups during the weekday and more on the weekends.

- Very fast and easy to make, with no mess. Fill up the water dispenser, turn the machine on, pop a colored pod in the maker and close lever. Wait for buttons to stop blinking to show it is heated, then push the button. Enjoy the smell! Very easy to clean - run water through by pressing the button and dump out/wash the tray where the overflow grill is and the basket that catches the many pods.

- Aeroccino froth maker is soooo much easier than trying to use the steam nozzles that most cappuccino maker's have (no splattering and nice, consistent... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Use them every.single.day... sometimes twice., October 14, 2008
By
Seattle N (Seattle, WA) - See all my reviews
I never thought I would go for this machine, I am a little purist and cranky about my morning cup of wonderful - however, I indulged the Nespresso rep at a local Sur La Table - and, wow.

This little combo worked better than The Cube in my opinion, and I love that frother!

Yes, you need the little capsules, but the darker roasts and the "Special Club" are pretty good, and I have many more to try. it helped that the rep tossed in like 5 extra packs of them for me. I found them online here at Amazon for about $6 a sleeve and with my Prime membership it was free shipping. And the rep told me next time I see her she will let me "try" a couple other flavors as well - bonus.

I have made chocolate milks, coffee blends with liqueurs for desserts, decaf cap's at night as well as my new fancy morning beverages.

I have had it for a month and adore it. Sure, a little pricey, but I think I have saved about $57 already in morning coffee shop trips. So that... Read more
